I make my way to my parents' packhouse, waving hello to others at the Academy. Having spent most of the last decade here, I know everyone.
When I walk into the packhouse, I see Nova helping Kendrick practice with her fire. Around here, pack members are used to fire and fire dragons, so no one blinks at someone lighting fires inside.
Since Kendrick’s back is to me, I put my finger to my mouth telling Nova to stay quiet. Kendrick is sweating, concentrating hard while trying to pull a flame onto his hand, I push a little of my own fire into his hand, making it blaze hot.
