Mum was so excited the day after Alaric proposed to me. She had loved her handfasting ceremony and was happy that we were following some human traditions. It had meant a lot to mum’s adopted parents that we respected that side of our family.
Mum grew up as a human, so she always looked forward to the day that she would be married. Dad, after realising he was being an a.ss, made sure to do everything he could to fulfil each and every wish she had ever had.
Grandpa Daniel had even done the honours of escorting her to the ceremony, as he was just as much a father to her as her biological one. Grandpa Theon also had the chance to escort Mum when it came to her crowning ceremony, so they both got to stand next to her on her most important days.
