Chapter 4: Unwilling Compromise
Anna had stayed at the house for the remainder of the day. She had wandered from room to room and explored the paths that wound through the property behind the house. In every room and on every path, she could bring to mind dozens of memories. Unfortunately, all that wandering around did absolutely nothing to help her solve her current predicament.
She really couldn't stomach the thought of the property being sold off to strangers, but the alternative didn't hold much appeal, especially now that Logan had made his opinion of her clear.
How was she supposed to marry the guy—even if he was willing, which he wasn't—and then stay that way for an entire year? To live with the man who viewed her as nothing more than her mother? She wasn't sure she could do it,
