Logan had left sometime during the night and Anna had woken up alone. For the first time in her life, the place next to her on the mattress had felt...empty. It wasn't something she'd ever contemplated before. Her mother had never been the type to tuck her into bed with bedtime stories, so she'd gotten used to going to sleep on her own from a very young age.
