I stood patiently off to the side as the door came open. At first. Jack froze as he looked to the person upon the other side of the door. I couldn't help but grow curious and so I began to step forward to Jack's guest. Before I was able to make myself known to the unknown knocker, a deafening sound was heard. I was stunned in place as I was forced to watch Jack's body become thrown temporarily off kilter. His hand clutched tightly upon his abdomen as his bare gray shirt darkened at the location of his wound. With his touch carefully over his stomach, I finally managed to break from my still positioning when realizing he had been shot.
