The next morning, Nila and Jaden checked out of the hotel really early and rushed to the airport. They had managed to book the earliest flight they could find, at 9am, and had to reach the airport to check-in by 7am. Cindy had managed to book the same flight too so she told them that she would be seeing them at the airport around 7am.
The flight back to Penang was smooth and uneventful. The moment she saw the glittering island from the windows of the airplane, Nila felt relieved. It was like coming home. Somehow, living on the island felt more like home than back in Kuala Lumpur where she was born and where she grew up. Perhaps it was because she is finally living independently away from her meddling mother.
