"That thing said these paths would show us our past, fears, and mistakes, right? This must be our fears," I stood firm despite my insides shaking like an earthquake.
Rowan nodded her head, looking forward at the dark path that was illuminating before us.
The sounds coming from it were almost like breathing, heavy and rattling.
"Let's do it then," I clenched my fists before stepping through with my brothers flanking my sides and our parents guiding us from the back.
The world around us shifted into a thick darkness that took the air from my lungs. With a deep, shaking breath, I called out to everyone, relieved when they answered.
