Guilt gnawed on Marcus. When he left the club he assumed they would charge his card for the damages. He had started the fight and there was plenty of camera coverage even he wanted to deny it. He couldn’t count the number of times he insisted on paying for damages to smooth over any ruffled feathers and bailed his friends out of trouble. Yet, as he thought back he left the Masque in such a hurry he hadn’t bothered to speak to anyone and tell them he would pay. Many businesses thrived on keeping their important clients happy so it certainly wasn’t uncommon for them to comp food, alcohol and sweep away any difficulties that cropped up.
