I had decided to break tradition, and go to this inter-pack sports event and BBQ thing arranged by one of the neighbouring packs a couple of hours west of our pack. We had been invited year upon year but never went. We had nothing to do with this pack. My Dad had issues with the previous Alpha so we stayed clear of their pack generally, so I think the invites to their events were sent out of courtesy more than anything, sent because they sent them to every other pack in the area too.
But I was trying to build bridges, build connections, so perhaps I should attend this one, make this the first event I attend, try to fix the issues my Dad and the previous Alpha had had. There was a new Alpha there now and I was a new Alpha too, so surely a fresh start could be made?
