The buzzer and opening and closing of the front door announced the arrival of Tomas.
The helper had let him in. I heard the greetings.
I prefer to be alone at home, so the helpers cleaned the unit and retreated back to their shelter until the time I called them, should I need anything. My family insisted I keep the bodyguards, and I didn't mind as long as they stayed out of my sight.
I lived by my own resources, my investments were doing very well, and I didn't have to ask my family for anything financial. They might see me as irresponsible and good for nothing s**t, but I was living the life I wanted to have. I made my rules and lived by them.
