EMIR'S POV
It is late in the afternoon and my wife is already preparing for the party. I called Jessica and helped my wife to get the best artist to make my wife the most beautiful tonight. Though she is always beautiful in my eyes, I still want her to feel special and besides, she rarely comes to a party like this. Also, she doesn't want the gowns that I chose for her, she said that they're too daring and so I asked my personal shopper to buy another one, a conservative yet elegant gown and the best.
I am also delighted today after our conversation in the garden, she even let me kiss her.
'Oh, how badly I miss my wife in bed,' I thought.
Staying away from her is not easy, but I blame myself for every bad thing that happened to us and I know it is not easy to forgive me, I just can't control the devil inside me. But I hope this time, I will not be able to disappoint my wife and maybe when the time comes we will be able to build our own family and have children, finally.
I am currently at the balcony, pouring myself some whiskey while waiting for my wife to finish. Until later on,
"Emir," she called my name. I turned to look at her and my mouth hung open when I saw my ever beautiful wife in a wine long sleeve lace gown. I gulped the remaining alcohol in the glass I am holding and walked in her direction.
"You are so beautiful, my darling," I told her as I looked at her whole.
Though I only force her to be my wife, I'm still glad I did because I can't let anyone have her. She is mine, my beautiful angel.
"Emir, don't you think this is too much?" She suddenly asked, having doubts about her look.
"No, it's perfect, as to how perfect you are for a devil like me," I told her and pecked her on the lips.
"Let's go?" I asked her and she nodded.
I hold her hands and lead her to the car, while Henry will be our driver for tonight, already positioned himself. We sat together at the back seat of the car without releasing her hand.
When we arrived at the venue I felt Hope's hand suddenly shaken up seeing the reporters and photographers outside.
"Are you nervous?" I asked her.
"Yes, you knew that I never got used to being in this kind of world like you." She honestly said.
"Don't worry, I'm with you. They will never get a chance to get closer to you, I promise." I assured her by looking at her eyes which she responded with a weak smile.
Later on, Henry stopped in front of the venue, and just like I always expect, the reporters quickly stood in our doorway. The guards quickly got out of the SUV following us and pushed the reporters aside to give us the way.
I made my stepped outside first and helped my wife get out, but just as she started stepping her heels out of the car, a reporter yelled a question.
"Miss Hope Villafranco! Is it true that your husband left you after the accident!?"
"What do you feel about it, Ma'am!?"
I felt her hand grip on me tightly as we started our entrance. The guards keep on blocking them as we make our steps but we can't make our escape from their silly questions as they keep on asking and asking.
"Sir! Some say that your marriage is not working well, did you bring your wife tonight to prove them wrong?"
"Mr. Villafranco! Where were you these past few months?
"What can you say about the rumors that Miss Hope is asking for a divorce?"
Until we finally reached the entrance, I turned to my wife and saw her troubled expression?
"Hey, are you okay?" I asked her.
"I'm not" she quickly responded.
"I told you, I don't wanna go, but you insist on me." She whispered, looking down.
"Come on, sweetie. Not now." I told her, but she pulled her hand from my hold.
"I'll just go to the restroom." She said and turned her back at me and before I can speak she is already walking away from me.
"Mr. Villafranco!" Someone made me take away my sight from my wife and turned to the person who called me.
"It's nice to see you tonight Mr. Black." I greeted him, he is one of the members of the business association I am with.
"I see you brought your wife tonight, that's a good way to show the public that you guys are on good terms." He commented.
"I didn't need to prove anything, to anyone," I coldly said before taking a glass of champagne and told Henry to follow my wife.
Just like Hope, I don't want to go to a party like this as well, where most of the people are bragging to each other about how rich they are, because obviously, I don't have to brag mine since everyone knows and if not because of my uncle I will not be going here. This is my only way of thanking him for looking after my company for the past few months.
I started walking to the crowd while waiting for my wife when someone blocked my way, the daughter of the mayor, Victoria.
"Hi, handsome." She greeted me.
"Hello beautiful, it's been a long time." She used to be one of my pastimes before I married Hope.
"Yeah! And I missed you, what do you think of going out with me after the party." She said enticingly while slowly wrapping her arms around my neck when Henry called behind me.
"Sir,"
And saw my wife with him looking at me coldly. I quickly took off Victoria's arms and introduced her to Hope.
"Sweetheart, this is Victoria, the daughter of Mr. Harold, the mayor."
"Hi, nice meeting you," Victoria said, stretching a hand for a shake, but Hope didn't receive it and instead she just walk past her, I heard Victoria hissed because of my wife's behavior but I don't care about her and just follow my wife who is going to the bar corner.
"Martini, please" she ordered the bartender.
"I don't understand why you brought me here." She suddenly said.
But before I could speak I saw Uncle Ruben approaching in our direction.
"Emir! Hope! Thank you so much for coming, especially you Hope, I know that you don't feel comfortable in this kind of event but look, you're here and you even look very beautiful tonight." He told my wife.
"Thank you, Uncle, and yes you're right. I'm not feeling comfortable and even regret coming here tonight, I'm sorry. Excuse me, gentlemen." She said and left with her martini.
"What happened?" Uncle asked me when she left, I took a deep sighed before uttering a word,
"The reporters, and Victoria," I told him.
"I see, that's really bad news my son." He said, chuckling softly.
"Yeah," I said.
"Uncle, excuse me, I'll just get and follow my stubborn wife."
"Sure, good luck son," he said and tapped my shoulder.
I saw Hope go outside of the venue to the garden and follow her, but my body shivered when I saw her talking to a familiar person.
'How did she get in here?' I asked myself and quickly moved to get my wife before she could say anything but I think I'm late when I saw my wife start crying.
"Emir!?" Ariane called my name and Hope turned to look at me.
"How dare you," she said glaring at me.
"Hope," I called her and tried to hold her but she nudged my hand.
"I hate you! How dare you tell me that you love me when you get her pregnant!?" She furiously said, pointing at Ariane, and ran away.
"Hope!" I was about to follow her when Ariane held my arms.
"Emir! Please don't leave me," she said.
"I told you, not to come any closer to my wife but you didn't listen!" I hissed.
"Emir, I'm pregnant. I'm carrying your child, please."
"What pregnant!? What child!? I don't know what you are talking about, stay away from me." I said when suddenly Henry came running to me.
"Sir! Ms. Hope, she left with someone" He said gasping for air.
"What!?" I asked with furrowed eyebrows.
"Mr. Lopez, sir. She left with Mr. Lopez!"
