Ryder’s POV
“Hi doc, my girl told me to invite you.” I whispered, leaning over to him, so no one heard.
“Time?”
“Around 9:00 pm”
“Ok, I clock out at 8:30...” His pager started to beep. “Link me the address, I’ll be there, got to go now.” He left.
I brought word back to Alli “Mission completed love.”
The joy it brought, to see her excited, was worth it. She winked at me with a smile before turning to everyone. “See everyone later tonight.” She locked her arms in mine. “Ryder and I will be off then.”
I hated to do this but I had to. “Sorry love but I’ve got somewhere I need to be.”
It pained my heart to see her countenance fall. “But I promise to be there tonight.” That was the only constellation I could give her.
