Amelia POV:
My breath hitches as I stare at my ex-mate on the hospital bed, his arm is wrapped in bandages and the scent of antiseptic is high in the air. His face is pale and gaunt looking, he's seemingly aged since I last saw him, most likely due to the rejection and having to deal with his own thoughts.
Gone is the longing to be close to him, the emptiness I would feel when he wasn't close by. In its place is hurt and anger, yet despite that I can't deny that seeing him in this state doesn't upset me.
"Oh David" I murmur quietly as I take a seat by his bed.
