“Don’t be scared, Jessica,” Archer told me as he tried to keep me calm.
“We would never hurt you, we are here to keep you safe. Derek is keeping you safe right as we speak.”
“Then let me look at him!” I yelled at Archer, not wanting him to keep blocking my view from Derek. Archer seemed surprised by the fact that I had yelled at him but still seemed to be in doubt about which choice to make here. But s**t, I needed to have a look, I needed to see him, I needed to understand. Hell, everyone seemed to know about who Derek was, what he was, despite me!
