“See? She wants me here…” Jason spat, his arm recollecting her from the forest floor. Blood rushed through her veins, thudding wildly in her ears. “Nuh,” she choked out. “Nuh-no… no…” Renee struggled. “Don’t leave… -er!” The world around her slipped into darkness, shredding away, much like her memory. Her body quaked under his touch. His warmth radiated beside her in a way that should have been soothing but she’d shared too much. His touch was too much. Her skin crawled. No matter how small Renee caved around his arm, she couldn’t escape how large she felt. Her story, one of them at least, caught all of their attention. She felt as though she had just broadcast it over the radio, her voice echoing in her head as if she’d screamed it out. “Don’t worry about them,” Jason mutter
