Koda’s P.O.V. My wolf, Shadow, was on high alert, every sense heightened. The feeling was unmistakable, someone was watching us right f*****g now. Shadow growled inside of my mind, the primal instinct to protect my one true mate surging through me like a thunderbolt. Carefully, I disentangled myself from Jules’ sleeping body, my movements both slow and deliberate to make sure I wouldn’t wake her up in the process. I scanned the early morning darkness, my wolf’s eyes narrowing as I strained to catch any sign of movement. A scent hit me then, straight in the face, a faint but familiar odor that sent a cold shiver down my spine. It was the same exact scent from the night when someone had broken into the bed and breakfast, the night that had terrified Jules so deeply. the fucker! Shadow
