“What do you want from me?”
Chloe stands up, avoiding his intense gaze.
“You left and I want you back, Chloe.” His gaze softens.
Devon doesn’t want to sugarcoat what happened a few years back. He wants to be direct to the point. He knew in his heart he’s still wanting her. Nothing has ever changed throughout those years. He’s still the same man since then.
Chloe smiled at her bitterness.
“Do you think that’s just easy to do? You want me back because now I’m here? How about those years that I wasn’t here? Were you even trying to look for me?!”
The pain she has been hiding was slowly coming out of her. She wanted to cry, but she managed not to. After all those years, the pain was still there, just lurking and waiting to come out any time and that time is now.
