"My help?" I repeat to Jason as though I've misheard him. "Sure, we might be mates and all, but I'm pretty sure whatever the problem is, Austin doesn't want to see me."
Jason stares at me, almost confused. "What are you talking about? I've known Austin, practically my entire life, and trust me when I say, the Austin I know, would never be a celibate if you meant nothing to him, or if you were just a casual fling." His lips curl into a faint smile at the thought of a distant memory. "Trust me, I would know." He nods with a sense of pride, but then the smile fades as his face takes on a more solemn expression. "That's why you are our only hope now."
