I try to locate where in the room the growls come from when my eyes suddenly land on the darkest corner. I can't see who it is but his scent reaches my nose, and I know without a doubt it's him.
I knew he was going to come in here, this is not a surprise, even if I somehow hoped he would leave me alone.
I try to take a deep breath and steady my raising heart while I pull the covers closer to my body, not wanting to show a single piece of myself to him even if he has seen me before.
