I stared up at him. “You’re not wrong,” I admitted in a whisper. Dr. Preston stepped close to me again, pulling me into his arms. This time, his kiss was gentle though I could still feel the urgency in it. His hands slid down my back to cup my hips, bringing me closer to his hard body. I kissed him back with innocent passion that had been bottled up inside me for so long. A knock on the door made me jump and I pulled away from him. “What’s wrong?” he whispered. “Were you expecting someone else?” I shook my head. “No.” I glanced at my watch. “Damn.” “What?” I went over to the door and opened it.
