Nothing. Carter felt nothing. She didn't feel pain, she didn't feel anything at all. She seemed to be floating in the darkness, though her eyes were closed. She could feel a bed under her, with soft covers pulled up around her.   She had felt this before. She had felt absolutely nothing when she had learned Joey was dead, when she had escaped the fire Athena had set. Her body, her heart, had felt nothing.
