One year later   Carter stood on the front porch of the newly rebuilt pack house, watching all the people sitting in the front yard. She sat in a white rocking chair, watching two teenagers walk hand in hand past her. The girl had a bright smile all for the boy with the red eyes next to her. The girl leaned over and gave her mate a soft kiss, then grinned as his eyes slowly turned to green. They both hugged and Carter grinned, watching a group of little kids, some with red eyes, some with normal, play tag around the trees near the woods.
