Chapter 1

My life was quite simple. I have a very supportive parents, caring and protective brother, cool-witty friends and most of all.. I have sweet and loving boyfriend.

What more could I ask for? I have all I wanted in life, at least I think.

Well, aside of one thing..

"Where college will you transfer?" Shilin asked. She's a good friend of mine.

I let out a deep sigh. "They wanted me to continue my studies in some barrio's near at my parents province."

They all burst out laughing. Yeah. It might sound pretty hilarious and ridiculous. But it was real and definitely I needed to deal with in the near future or this coming school year.

"Some college at your barrios? You mean you're continuing college in your province? Your parents' hometown?" Quinna pouted.

"No shit, Sherlock! Your deductions were right!" Lyra clapped her hands and grinned.

"Talk to my hand!" Quinna rolled her eyes at her then faced me. "Seriously, Krayol Ginger Villacarlos?"

"Yes, Quinna." I answered shortly.

"Does Emjei know about this?" Shilin again.

"I haven't tell him yet." I now sighed deeply. "And I don't know if I'm brave enough to tell him about this." shaking my head.

"Then, he's going to be more free." Lyra said that got my interest.

"Free? Free of what?" my brows knitted.

Quinna tapped her shoulder like as if she's silencing her. My squad acting weird now.

"Are you girls hiding something?" crossing my arms and gave them a scrutiny look. "Tell me, what is it?"

Lyra turned off the flatscreen and faced me fully now. "Emjei is cheating on you my dear Krayol."

It took a seconds before it hit me. "You got me there!" I laughed out loud. They were really funny. My stomach ache upon laughing hard but then my laughter slowly faded to frown into serious one. "What's with the face girls?" I looked at everyone.

"We are just want you to know about it. But it is for you to find out." Shilin with her serious face.

That time it dawned on me. That maybe my life wasn't that perfect. I was just assuming things. But no.

"Why are you not sure?" I moved my cellphone to the other side. "We've been planning this since last week, right?"

"..Yeah, but I have practice.." Emjei said over the phone. "..I'm really sorry hon.."

"No, you committed on me." I insisted. "You promise.."

"..I know Krayol, but I'm committed too to my team.." he paused. "..I'll make it up to you next time.."

"No!" I ended the call and thrown away the phone.

I was annoyed at him but then I just needed a nap and would deal about him afterwards. I was pretty sure, later he's here for our movie date. He couldn't resist my charm after all.

I jerked in my bed suddenly. And found the wall clock, said that it's almost dinner time.

Why no one bothered on waking me up?

I left the bed and went out. And found Rui, my older brother in the living room and seemed busy watching his favorite show.

"Did Emjei come?" I yawned after asking him.

"You see him anywhere?" his reply without even looking at me.

I rolled my eyes. "Where's nanny?"

I could feel my churning stomach. I was starved.

"Grocery."

"At this time?"

"Yes." he simply replied.

"How can I eat now?" I was stomping my feet while taking the couch near him.

"We have food in the fridge. Help yourself."

"You'll not going to eat?" I got up to go to the kitchen.

"I'm full." still busied with what he's watching.

I rolled my eyes at Rui and on the flatscreen. He's watching the Cavaliers and Golden State game why he's like bewitched by the television.

I went to the kitchen and checked our fridge. I took some sweets first, chewing now my cake while waiting for my food to be readied.

While eating, I wondering why Emjei did not come. Was it really not possible for his time or he really forgot our date? I hated him, this was the first time he forgot our date.

I was still annoyed when he's shown up outisde our school gate. We actually not schoolmates. I, attending all girls school while him, on the other hand studying at his school or rather university. So, I oftenly went to his school and sometimes to watch his practice and to see him. Well, my school was not allowing us for visitors especially boys.

"Why you here?" I glared him while crossing my arms.

"About yesterday.." he started. "I'm sorry that I have been busy."

"Good, thanks that you know you're at fault." I whispered and walked to leave him.

"Krayol..!"

I was still mad at him and did not pick up all his calls and messages last night till now.

"Go back to your school." I left him there alone.

I was holding hard my chest. Damn. I was about to scream and hugged him a while ago. Who wouldn't be? Emjei was here. Holding a bouquet of roses together with bear and chocolates.

If I did not think that he was guilty, so did his efforts. I might have posted it on social media as hashtag relationship goals.

I was fanning myself when I arrived in my room and noticed my friends weird faces when they saw me.

"You've talked to him?" Shilin asked beside me.

"Who?" I asked skiptically.

"who else?" Quinna asked hardly. "Of course, your forever!"

"No." shaking my head. "But I saw him outside our school."

"This explains why." Shilin murmured.

"Wanna share it Shilin?"

"Remember the girl who spreaded rumors about her and your boyfriend romance before?" Quinna asked me.

"Who's girl?" I did not have-

"That Krishane girl."

"What about her?"

"She's spreading rumors again. And this time she's spreading out that you and Emjei is over" Quinna was fuming mad. "Where the hell is that jerk, again?"

"He's just around." my calm answer. "Hey, that was just a rumor. Let that one pass and let her imagine things that would never happened." I winked at them.

"Yeah, chill everyone. If that girl does not want to stop then we'll go through the truth." Quinna grinned wickedly.

I think I needed to talk about this with him.

The class had begun. As my whole day was getting bored like the usual days. Maybe because soon I'd left and moved school later this year why my days passed like the usual boring days.

We're happy chatting and laughing at each others jokes when a frightened student neared us or me.

"You need to see the bulletin board." the student said.

I really didn't know her. "Excuse me? Who are you?"

"It doesn't matter. But those photos in that bulletin board will surely surprise you!"

"What photos?" with my knitted brows.

"Let's go and see it." Lyra nodded.

I checked on my wrist watch, it's still early. I actually had planned to go straight to Emjei's university.

There were some women whispering around as they looked at us when we're heading our way but I ignored them.

I had no idea what the hell was happening. What am I going to react?

People were divided into two when they saw us approaching the bulletin board. My crease forehead turned more knit when I glimpsed it.

My curiosity suddenly replaced by anger. The nerve.

So this is the reason why people in my school throwing some pity looks on me. I feel mad. No, no! I was beyond furious right now.

Quinna and Shilin came before me. They shrinked and shreaded the pictures that were posted there. The photos of my beloved boyfriend and that snake girl.

"Pity her. She was fooled blindly by her boyfriend." a girl voice.

"I heard that her boyfriend and Krishane already was in a relationship before." another whisper.

Then a lot of nasty comments followed, but a girl's voice behind me took over and got my attention.

"You aren't surprised right?" she was grinning when I faced her. "Because you two were already broke up."

"What a catterpilar whore! You have a gut to show up here!" Quinna about rushing to her but Shillin stopped her.

"That's true, I am telling here the truth." she annoyingly flipped her hair. "Am I right, Krayol?"

I looked at some of those photos had left on the bulletin board. There were photos taken from Emjei's practice game. Didn't know if those were a recent one. They looked sweet on those photos with his teammates. There was also a snapshot. They were all over to each other. And it really made me irritated.

"Is that what he said to you? That we're over?" I faced her.

"Yes, and he told me he found you boring why he broke up with you." she told me while laughing annoyingly.

I was on a verge of slapping her hard but I know better. I managed a sweet smile instead.

"I don't think so. But thanks to you, I am now having a reason to break him up. Well, he's all yours." I smiled sweetly at her again. "Anyway, he's not that yummy."

And then turned my back. I hurriedly walked away from that place. I could feel my self shaking, I heard nothing. My loud heart beats almost deafening me.

As soon as I saw my car I mmediately got in. And did not waited for my friends. Shortly after I left, the warm liquid poured on my cheeks. My face was now covered and soaked by my tears.

"Is there a problem Krayol?" I was asked by Fernand, our driver.

"I'm fine." still sniffling my cry.

"Are you sure, hija?" he asked again.

"Yeah, I'm okay." I inhaled and exhaled. I had to stop crying, Fernand might tell my brother about it.

I decided to pick up my phone, it was ringing non stop since I left the school. I sighed deeply before answering it.

"..You home?.." Lyra's greeting. "..You left us all here.."

"I'm on my way."

"..We're co-.." I cut her off.

"No!" I glimpsed Fernand but his attention was on the road. "I'm fine, Lyra. Please tell Shilin and Quinna that I'm perfectly fine. Let's talk tomorrow."

"..But Krayol-.."

"Please Lyra.."

"..Alright. If that is what you want.."

"Thanks."

I ended the call as our car entering the gate of our house now. I was very nervous to see my brother Rui's car and felt relieved when I confirmed it was not there yet.

I was tired sitting in front of my computer. The wallpaper immediately appeared when I moved the mouse.

I could feel the anger immersing my within and instantly closed it. I stood up and sat on my bed. Again, my tearducts watered. How dare Emjei, do this to me.. I smiled bitterly, our two year relationship ended here.

I had been crying all night, that's why my eyes were swollen bad in the next morning.

"You did not seem to like the dinner last night." Rui said when I saw him in the kitchen.

"I was tired yesterday preparing my school papers. Will I just be transferring remember?" I avoided his stare.

"Did you cry?" I looked away, avoiding him.

"No, I had a long sleep." I glanced at him for a moment and walked towards the kitchen.

"Speaking of your transfering of school. They've been fixing everything for your university." he said while following me.

"It is fixed right away? But it's still December now, I'll still have three months left for this year." Mommy was too much about this. They were in a rush for this matter.

"What would you expect from our mother?" he sat down.

"I do not understand why Mommy is so eager to this." I really had no escape now.

"Becasue no one will be here with you. After my graduation I will fly shortly to U.S., for my Masters."

"I can take care of my self. Also Mom can pay me a visit oftenly if she wants."

"Mommy not trusting you with your boyfriend."

Yeah. They have said it a million times. My parents afraid of my early pregnancy but they were not against with Emjei. They'd known him, and met him many times.

What if I tell them about our break up? Maybe they would consider it. I stared at my brother. Rui and Emjei not that close though they were civil to each other.
