Pulling into the station was nerve wracking. There was an energy there that he couldn’t quite explain but having Brian beside him sort of helped even him out. William wondered if that was a feeling he gave Malorie and that was how they had bonded to begin with, or if it was the other way around, now that he thought about it. When William felt weak, Malorie rose to the occasion, ready to fight for him no matter the cost.
William frowned at that.
His focus returned a moment later, making it easier to walk up to the building and within it. He imagined she was beside him, scared and agitated at the fact that they were even there. William scanned the room looking for any pair of eyes to lock onto his when he found his father’s looking back at the door.
