Malorie stared at him even while he joyfully turned to her. She looked distant, challenging herself to stay within the moment with him. “What?” he asked. “Who is she to you really?” Malorie cut to the chase. “She’s just a girl from Home Economics,” he frowned at her. “Why?” “The two of you must have really hit it off if she was that way with you.” “What way?” he frowned. “You know what way, William,” she replied expecting him to know. “I really don’t. I mean we had words after class about a project…” William’s eyes went wide as he swallowed his tongue. He wasn’t supposed to bring that up. “What project?” Malorie asked, her frown deepening. “You mean you’re going to be around her instead?” William’s frown deepened with hers. “No, no…” he assured her. “It’s for the senior pr
