Malorie was right, William realized, from the night they had gotten home after dealing with her mom all the way through the summer, she was only moving laterally through her own void. She considered her failures to be dealing with any event that had her anxiety spike and a new wave of emotions wrack through her mind and body.  It’s what pushed him into community college instead of trade school, especially after Malorie realized her breakdowns would keep her from becoming the soldier she felt she could be.
