He can feel the moment she’s ready to pull a way like a sag in their connection and instead of forcing it, he knows to let it go but she doesn’t leave. Not really at least. He regards her carefully, his gaze falling to her lips but settling on her eyes as she looks up to him.  “You did?” Malorie nodded, her own gaze lowered to his lips making him freeze. He wondered just how far this would go if she let him kiss her.  “I did,” she sighed softly. “I’m glad you’re back.” “I’m glad you stayed,” he whispered, leaning forward ever so slightly to kiss her. The moment their lips touched, it felt different, unhurried… as if they found what they were looking for in each other whereas they hadn’t before in their haste.
