She struggled through the underbrush, her arms scraped and scratched, her chest heaving and panting loudly as she limped over debris and fallen twigs and leaves. It was pitch black outside, except for the smallest amount of light given by the moon, something that Serena was very much thankful for it. She didn't know which direction she was heading as she stumbled through the trees, trying to stay in a straight line, only that it was away from her own pack and far away from Johnathon, who she prayed was still sleeping. She had managed to avoid patrol. How she didn't know. Maybe they had turned a blind eye, or perhaps the fact that she still wore her little black dress camouflaged her just a little.
