Alexis stepped out of the vehicle, elegantly taking Caden’s hand as he helped her out before letting the valet take the car. She threaded her arm through his with a smile as they walked along the red carpet and endured the clicks and flashes of the eager cameras. And endured was the right word. Caden, in particular, disliked flash photography, but he knew it was part of their life and always would be. Even so, she felt his discomfort and saw his smile was rather stiff and mechanical.
