Aria stumbled back into the cell but caught herself before she fell. Without a word, she sat on the floor, leaning against the wall again. The other girls snuck glances at her, wondering what she had been forced to do. She paid them no mind.
“And you too.”
Jake’s unconscious body was tossed in her cell as well before the door clanked shut and was locked. Aria sighed after their escort departed. She hoped to wait longer before using her trump card, but calling on her family name was the only logical course. It was the best shield she had for her and her, as yet, unconfirmed baby.
