He hadn’t left her side all evening like a protective guard dog. Aria appreciated his support. Returning to New York high society was far more nerve-wracking than she anticipated, but he seemed even more anxious. She wasn’t quite sure why.
There had been a few men who gave her leering looks, but none would ever think of challenging Theo’s place beside her. She had noticed a few women giving her side-eye glances and sneers. Those didn’t bother her as much as she thought they would. She had been so worried about seeing Theo with someone else and how she would face those women, but now she found it laughable.
