Emma wandered from the bedroom in her Aunt's house, trying not to wake Luci, who was asleep in the bed beside her. She heard the sound of her Aunt's voice and followed it out onto the porch, where she found her sitting with Cern. Cern's low voice rumbled across the porch to her, quiet and strong. Her Aunt laughed and Emma lifted an eyebrow, listening for a few more minutes. It seemed Cern was charming her Aunt. Ah, they both had a love for animals, and Emma herself apparently, and there they had bonded. Emma shook her head, pushing the door open before anymore embarrassing stories about herself could be told by her Aunt, and gods forbid Cern offered any. Emma blushed.
“Emma!” Cern's voice sounded relieved as she walked around the rocking chair her Aunt was sitting in.
