Phoebie looked at the stars from her place on the garden bench. She shivered slightly, but it wasn't caused by the air temperature. The Healer's questions had been probing and uncomfortable, scraping raw nerves she wasn't ready to have exposed yet. Watching R tense and clench his fists and jaw when answering was almost as bad. She could almost hear the tearing and crunching sound as R's body was broken. Phoebie suddenly found herself standing on her feet. She felt the need to escape, but how do you escape your own mind? “Bee?” R's voice made her jump and she nearly shrieked. She managed to strangle the sound down to a whimper. “Ah damn Bee, I didn't mean to scare you.” R said apologetically, and she felt his hand slide gently down her arm until he clasped her fingers within his
