Bear bounded into the backyard, tail up and wagging, pouncing forward as birds flew from the grass with a happy grin. He'd never hurt them, but it was still fun to run with them as they flew. He barked happily and turned around catching sight of the intruder behind him. He bounced around in a circle chasing the wagging thing happily and then heard his Mistress laughing.
“Bear Bear, that's your tail!” She teased. He stopped turning circles and raced to her instead. She crouched in front of him and held open her arms, only suddenly the image changed. There was a different woman in front of him now. She had unruly wavy hair, and she'd called for him from the other plane, and his name wasn't Bear anymore, it was Luci. His footsteps faltered.
