When Wiz turns Erin into Hera or her version of a dragon, Pit understands that life had not only assigned him to be a transported angel and now, but to have a kind of friendship and relationship during Erin's life, since it was evident that life had assigned him to stay a long time at Kepler, and to be Erin's protective angel until the end of her physical days at Kepler.

This is why Pit basically becomes Erin's consciousness and wisdom, which makes her communicate more and more with her, making her develop the ability to communicate and understand her environment at an energetic level, the friendship of Erin and Pit are always kept secret and confidential for reasons that Pit decides to describe as "common good for the final order".
