The next day, Laura slept in, “mmm feels so good to sleep in!” she said as she stretched in her bed and just relaxed for the remainder of the day, as she made some toast and coffee and sat outside on her balcony of her apartment, as her phone rang and it was her mother. Laura didn’t tell her mother what happened to avoid the shame of it all.
“Baby, how are you?” her mother said excitingly on the phone to hear her daughter’s voice.
“Morning mother, how are you?” she asked, as they continued in their conversation Laura blurted out, “I quit my job” she said drinking her coffee. “What!? Why? I thought you loved your job sweetheart?” her mother said. “yeah, I just felt it was time to move on, mum…” she said putting down her coffee and leaned back on her seat as she overlooked the city.
