Kinley couldn't speak, could only stare as Alpha Darius took her hand and shook it, unable to stop him from doing it without arousing suspicion. Bile rose in her throat and she swallowed it down, Spencer clearly not picking up on the tension.
"You've both met" Spencer said looking pleased "was she a nanny for you or one of the members of your pack?"
A small smile played on Darius's mouth. "Not quite it was while we were a bit younger wasn't it Kinley" he said gruffly, looking her up and down with a grin as she stiffened. "You've grown up so beautiful" he told her and she wanted to scream, rake her fingernails across his eyes and take him down with one punch. But she couldn't afford to ruin this treaty for Spencer, no matter her own personal feelings on the matter.
