Kinley parked the car, sobbing in relief. It had been a long journey but well worth it as she almost slammed the door open and ran to the little cottage her father adored and called home. She knocked on the door desperately and when he opened it, quite shocked to see his daughter, he must admit, she flung herself into his arms as he took in her appearance, her red puffy eyes, the dried tear stains on her cheeks, and began stroking her hair.
"Oh darling" he murmured soothingly as he picked her up as though she weighed nothing and brought her inside the house, her legs wrapped around him like a koala, "what happened honey?" he asked worriedly as he sat her down on the couch, sitting beside her and taking one of her cold and clammy hands.
