Autumn’s POV
We stared at each other in an odd way, as if it were a silent argument. Our glances battled each other, until tears arose, and we found ourselves crying.
"Why did you do it?" I hiccuped, tears rolling down with the same quietness. He sighed, wiping his own tears, before rising from the foot of the bed, and wandering toward the window with a curious slowness. His hand was curled around his stomach and he staggered in mental and physical pain.
I felt an urge to do something, to comfort him, but also myself. In a moment I pressed my lips against his, felt his body loosen and arms touch my shoulders. I chuckled beneath the salty tears, "It's payback." Then we hovered right there, quite soundless for so long, simply feeling each other's presence.
