Ben eased her back to see her family and hadn’t left her side until she was scented, and even then it was hard to leave her there even though all he was looking to do was secure the bike in the back and head back. Once he was settled beside her, he took the wheel, keeping a keen ear listening for stray comments that could provoke her further, but they all seemed to settle despite their chase. Ben figured it would all come out soon as they were all still clearly perched at the side of the hypothetical cliff that represented their nerves.  Before anyone else can speak, Kayla does.  “Alpha,” she whispers quietly.  Ben breathes his reply, asking what she needs. “We need to go to the local precinct. I need to share my past, register myself and get a restraining order,” she swallows. Omega
