“So, who are they to you?” Ben asked Kayla softly while Chyanne wrestled with Pedro to get him to stay seated just outside the door. “Roxi, can you… Oh, hey Frank! Welcome home,” she said with a smile. “Do you think you could help me keep an eye on Pe? He keeps trying to go in the pool and sobbing over the chicken. And I have to pay the pizza guy.”
“Sobbing over chicken?” Frank turned his head in question.
“It’s been a day,” she said sagging against the door as Frank made it to her.
“Sounds like it,” he agrees with her, turning once more to stare Ben down before heading out to see Pedro.
