It took months of arguing back and forth to even decide where abouts around the institute each of the different races wanted to make the centre of their new settlement. Even though they had decided to live closer together, they also didn’t want to be mixed together too much. I had been against this, not seeing why we could not all just intermingle like we had been doing, and like those at the institute were expected to do. After the territorial nature of most of the species was explained to me at length, I caved. But some sections of the surrounding area would be communal to all species making intermingling more accepted and encouraged.
