"Who's there?" John whispered to himself even if he knows that he's alone in his apartment.
He thought he heard someone from outside. He was sleeping in his room when a loud thud woke him up. It came from outside of her room and he lives alone now. Ever since Megan broke up with him, he swore not to live with a girlfriend anymore.
But right now, he hears footsteps, and he feels the need to check it. What if it's a burglar or something? He needs to get out of his room and find out. That's why he took his baseball bat that he always keeps inside his bedroom. In case somebody trespasses in his place, he can defend himself.
