Alex took my hand and dragged me across the hallways in the opposite direction most students were headed at that very moment. I followed him excitedly until the library, where we dropped each other's hands and turned quiet and serious as if we were just going there to study. Without saying a word, we walked in opposite directions but eventually met at the English prose corridor, near the Elizabethan volumes.
