I’m so proud of Cal. I knew he’d come through for me. I knew he’d make the effort to work with Iniko. I wasn’t sure how Iniko would feel about it, but I’m glad that he’s also making the effort to get along.
“Be careful with Kenzo, Iniko. He’s a sneaky little earth dragon,” Ancalagon says as we walk to class. He has his arm around my shoulders. It’s casual, but also a very clear display that I’m his mate. Since I am, and I want everyone to know it, I wrap my arm around his waist. I may have two dragons, but I only have one mate.
“Shut up, Cal. Earth dragons aren’t sneaky,” Kenzo says.
“Are you sure about that?” I ask, joining in the teasing. It feels good to have the dragons on my side again.
