Denae looked towards Jake who walked alongside her. He had saved her from an awkward situation that she did not want to be a part of…he had saved her from Zaid’s shameless eyes.
She didn’t know why she was there to begin with...her instincts had led her all the way to him, just so she could witness something she did not want to. She was aware that the slaves taken from Jerald’s pack were treated badly, but she didn’t know they were beaten for such small mistakes.
