Charlotte thanked her lucky stars that he hadn’t unsheathed the knife yet as she kicked his wrist and sent the blade clattering towards the other side of the room, where it came to rest in front of what looked like some kind of a furnace. Emmerson leaped to his feet before Charlotte could get in another hit and sent his fist towards her stomach with more speed than Charlotte had expected.
