“W-Where’s Brianna and Aunt Beatrice?” I asked Dad as he walked into my room. He found me seated on the bed that Sunday afternoon. I woke up late and had my late lunch without seeing the two. I thought they were still asleep but when I asked the maid, they said Aunt Beatrice and Brianna left last night. When I asked about Lance, they said he left first without them. And the guilt was overwhelming. I could sense a bigger gap between Brianna and Lance and despite knowing it had been there since they started, I still couldn’t help but blame myself if they completely separated this time. Lance deserved so much better. He’s a kind man. But I didn’t want to be the reason behind their fallout. Besides, he had been holding on to my cousin for so long.
