The war has begun.
Our eyes meet. Gianna makes the first move, but Milena is quick to counterattack. Their forks clash together as they battle over the last pancake.
I use their distraction to snatch it up, shoving it into my mouth before anyone can stop me.
“You monster,” Gianna gasps.
“This is why I can’t take these three anywhere,” Alex tiredly informs his brother, who is staring at the three of us with mild terror.
“Couldn’t you have just cut it three ways?” Sean asks.
“It’s not the same,” Milena says, shaking her head at his ignorance.
“The taste of victory would be lacking,” I agree.
