“I just don’t see it. I really don’t.”
“How? Penguins are awesome.”
“Yeah, but they’re, like, birds. And they can’t even fly, so that makes them loser birds, too.”
“They can fly,” Matteo argues, playing with my hair. “They just fly in water instead of air. Have you seen them take a dive?” He lets out a low whistle. “s**t’s majestic.”
“If you say so,” I remain unconvinced. “It’s just— I mean, there are so many other animals in the world. Like, hello, leopards? Tigers? Lions? You know, the cool animals that actually do stuff and look pretty.”
